Welcome to the 11th TAIN International Festival – 2015 Aikido World Championships

Location
The festival will take place in Fiesch; a municipality in the district of Goms in the canton of Valais in Switzerland. A great place for hiking , skiing or just enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Swiss Alps.
Venue
All activities of the festival will take place in the Fiesch Sport Ferien Resort.
The resort provides an ample set of facilities for any type of both outdoor and indoor sports. The Festival organisation has secured a low rate price in the resort for the Group Pavilions to ensure that affordable and comfortable accommodation will provided for all national organisations coming to the Festival.
Seminar
As usual, the TAIN festival will include events to further improve our Aikido and share everyones particular insight on the teachings of Tomiki Shihan. This is a great opportunity for everyone to train with different people from around the world and in the spirit of Jigoro Kano’s famous teaching “jita kyoei” further advance together in our understanding of our system.
Events are as follows:
- Thursday 22nd of October.
The Tatami area will be free in the afternoon to organise a workshop. If you would like to organise a workshop please contact the organisation regarding the contents.
- Friday 23rd of October
Morning: Introduction to Koryu No Kata. A review on seldom seen Koryu No Katas by different nstructors.
Afternoon: Introduction to Toshu Randori in competition
Competition
The World Championships held during the 11th TAIN Festival includes the traditional events:
Randori
The list of Randori competition events are as follows:
- Women’s Individual Randori
- Men’s Individual Randori
- Women’s Team Randori
- Men’s Team Randori
Please note:
The suggested minimum age to enter any of the randori events is of 18 years. The organisation will accept people of younger age if and only if: The National organisation, in compliance with their National legislation, allow for them to participate A document proving that the player in question has International Insurance is provided.
Embu
The list of Embu competition events are as follows:
- Kyu grade Toshu Junana Hon no Kata : The seventeen techniques with out tanto for players with Kyu grade only.
- Dan grade Tanto Junana Hon no Kata: The seventeen
- Koryu-no-kata: The suwari waza and tachi waza sections from the Dai-san-no-kata ( Goshin )
- Open Kata: Free style kata with one Uke for two minutes ( the use of weapons is not allowed).
Please note: A player will only be allowed to enter two embu events , independently if he enters as Uke or Tori.
Kongo Dantaisen
The Kongo Dantaisen will be a mixed team event open to everyone regardless of grade. It will include the following matches:
- First match : Dai-san-no-kata Suwari waza section. The eight kneeling techniques, open to anyone regardless sex.
- Second match: Dai-san-no-kata Tachi waza section. The eight standing techniques, open to anyone regardless sex.
- Third match: Men’s tanto randori
- Fourth match: Women’s tai-sabaki
- Fifth match: Men’s toshu randori
