The 2022 BAA Senior & Junior Championships were held on Sunday 10th April at the Sedbergh Sports and Leisure Centre – the home training venue for Bradford Tomiki Aikido Club. The second Worldwide Sport Aikido Federation (WSAF) Junior, Youth, Cadet and Senior World championships were held in August 2019, at the Mesa College, San Diego, USA. Bradford juniors competed in the Under 10, Under 13 and Under 16 age categories, winning a total of 18 medals.
The 2019 BAA Junior National Championship was held on Saturday 22nd June at the Richard Dunn Sports Centre, with Junior Aikidoka from Bradford, Leeds, Garforth/Wetherby/Harrogate & Ferrybridge (Yon Ju Hachi Aikdo) and Dublin taking part. The 2019 BAA Junior Open (North) were on Saturday 9th March at the Richard Dunn Sports Centre, with over 100 Junior Aikidoka taking part from clubs in Bradford, Leeds and Yon Ju Hachi (Boston Spa, Garforth, Harrogate and Ferrybridge). The overall team trophy was awarded to the Yon Ju Hachi Club.
There are no Aikido classes on Wednesday 19th September as Grange School is holding a Parent’s evening. The Saturday classes will run as normal at Kents Gym and the Wednesday classes will be back on as normal from 26th September.
The 6th ETAN Open Championship was held over the weekend of 1st/2nd September 2018, at Sporthal de Vliethorst, Netherlands and was supported by the Tomiki Aikido Netherlands. Members of the club were part of the BAA Team that took part in this championship.
