Juniors from the Bradford Aikido Tomiki Club took part in the 2011 National Championship that was again held at the Richard Dunns Sports Centre in Bradford, competing against teams from Leeds, Wakefield, Wetherby, Wharfdale Aikido Club (Ilkley), Sei-Ki-Kai Aikido Club (Bingley), Harrogate, and Huddersfield. The juniors from Huddersfield were competing in their first championship.

In this championship both the Kata and Open Kata events were judged using a knock-out flag system.

Once again, the Aikido demonstrated by the juniors was of a high standard. Although Bradford won both the the Under 10 and Under 12 age categories, and won medals in both the Under 8 and the Under 16 age categories, they weren’t able to regain the overall team team title which again went to the very strong team from Leeds.
